Cinema / Movie Halls in Connaught Place


In Delhi City, Cinema has always been one of the most popular forms of entertainment. That’s why movie theaters/cinema halls are major entertainment venues in the capital city. Apart of numerous entertainment options, Connaught Place is having 4 cinema halls where you can relax and enjoy the silver screen for 3 hours.

Odeon BIG Cinemas

Opened in 1939, Odeon initially started with all English films in first six months. It’s central location and close surroundings with eating joints has made it very famous in the period of 1980s. From 2006, this cinema halls has been shut down for almost 3 years (for renovation work). In August 2009, Odeon has now come up with all modern look including 2 luxurious screening rooms with a seating capacity for 592 people. More about Odeon »


PVR Plaza

Earlier known as “Plaza Cinema” opened in 1933 and was designed by architect Robert Tor Russell (same person who has designed Connaught Place) as part of the Connaught Place development. PVR Rivoli

In old days, Rivoli was one of the oldest and smallest cinema halls in Delhi City. In it’s days, Rivoli was very popular for screening big banner English films. Like PVR Plaza, Rivoli has been overtaken by PVR some time ago. Now it’s known by PVR Rivoli. The look has completely changed and so as the surroundings. Regal Theater

Regal is the oldest cinema hall in Connaught Place Area. Constructed by architect Walter Sykes George, Regal Theater opened in 1932. This cinema hall has a long history associated with it. More about Regal Cinema »
