Odeon BIG Cinemas
Opened in 1939, Odeon initially started with all English films in first six months. It’s central location and close surroundings with eating joints has made it very famous in the period of 1980s. From 2006, this cinema halls has been shut down for almost 3 years (for renovation work). Earlier known as “Plaza Cinema” opened in 1933 and was designed by architect Robert Tor Russell (same person who has designed Connaught Place) as part of the Connaught Place development. In old days, Rivoli was one of the oldest and smallest cinema halls in Delhi City. In it’s days, Rivoli was very popular for screening big banner English films. Like PVR Plaza, Rivoli has been overtaken by PVR some time ago. Now it’s known by PVR Rivoli. The look has completely changed and so as the surroundings.
